BAIDEL Group s.r.l. continues its activity of internationalization, support to companies in foreign markets and development of international projects. 

As the sole authorized representative of the Italian Institute of Welding (Istituto Italiano della Saldatura - IIS) and the IIS Group in Libya, BAIDEL Group attended for IIS to the meeting with the representatives of the Libyan Advanced Occupational Center for Welding Technologies of Tajura (LAOCWT) to discuss the development and continuation of the activities and projects foreseen in the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the LAOCWT and IIS.

The Libyan Advanced Occupational Center for Welding Technologies of Tajura, which is part of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research (LASR) which in turn operates under the authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Libya, is the Libyan body responsible for all the activities related to research and development in the field of traditional and advanced welding techniques and allied processes and technologies, and for training national personnel in this vital sector.

The meeting with the general director of the Center: Dr. Tarek Lutfi Abu Zwaida and the LAOCWT responsibles included: discussions on areas of joint cooperation, the organization of training courses by IIS in various welding techniques, IIS support for the Libyan Center to obtain international accreditation from the International Institute of Welding (IIW, of which IIS is a founding member), and the development of joint research programs in the fields of advanced welding.

During the meeting, topics and projects related to the contents of the Memorandum of Agreement between BAIDEL Group s.r.l. and the LAOCWT were also discussed, with particular reference to the activities aimed at the modernization of the LAOCWT's advanced welding technologies department, including the supply of a new laser cutting and welding system, with high-power fiber lasers, dedicated to research and development in the field of advanced welding applications.

The meeting and the Memoranda of Agreement are part of LASR's efforts to localize technology, strengthen the capabilities of national personnel, and expand opportunities for cooperation with specialized international institutions, thereby contributing to the industrial and technological development process in Libya.

Dr. Abu Zwaida also emphasized the importance of Libyan-Italian cooperation in developing national skills and improving the quality of training in the fields of advanced welding.

The meeting between BAIDEL Group s.r.l. and the representatives of the LAOCWT was also featured in a news report broadcast by the Libyan television station Libya Al Ahrar in date 28.10.2025, and was reported on the website of the Libyan News Agency (LANA - the state news agency of the Libyan government).
